Welcome your customers as they sign-up. This is an important step in the relationship between your brand and your customers. Use it to continue the conversation and set the expectations of the quality of your communication and marketing.
What Should I Include in my Welcome Series?
Creating a welcome series is easy to accomplish, deciding the type of content you want to include in your welcome series is important. Here are some questions that you may want to have answers to:
- Do you want to offer any "thank you" such as a discount in your welcome?
- Do you want to offer the "thank you" in the second/third contact only if they have not purchased yet?
- Do you want to just say thank you and get them into the standard promotional emails as quickly as possible?
- How do you want to introduce your brand or your story to your users?
Creating a Welcome Series
A pre-configured campaign is setup in your account that triggers off of subscribes from a website to your primary Newsletter list. Let's start by selecting finding the Welcome Series in your Campaign list and clicking in to edit it.
Verify Your Audience
The Welcome Series is an "Event Triggered" campaign that goes out once a subscribe event to the Newsletter list is seen.
By default, the Newsletter Subscribe Filter will only trigger on new subscriptions sent from your website, not on bulk list uploads. Once you get your email collection modals up and running you will be to send new subscribers into this series.
Create Your Welcome Content
Let's create the first Touchpoint in your Welcome Series campaign.
Once, you are in the first touchpoint you will be able to create the content that you want to welcome your users and thank them for signing up. Start with your HEADER and FOOTER as you did in the Cart Abandonment, the rest is up to you! If you are looking for some inspiration, there are some great examples here.
Preview and Test Content
Once you have some content you want to see how it previews and tests all the way out to your inbox. You can do this by clicking on Preview or Test at the top of the page.
Add More Touchpoints
The default Welcome Series recipe comes with a disabled 2nd Touchpoint. If you want more touchpoints (which is recommended) you can enable the Touchpoint as shown below. You can also clone the first touchpoint to start with all the content you built in Touchpoint 1.
Once everything is ready, let's set it live! Since this is an Event Triggered campaign is will be live the second you click Go Live!
