Overview
Being able to email your users is a key to drive retention and engage them throughout the week. Many users will give you their email address before converting because they are wanting to understand your brand more, be notified of new products, or even just to see if a discount is possible.
Creating a modal that asks for a user to identify themselves is a standard practice these days and one you want to be able to leverage. This guide will walk you through creating your first collection Modal with the prebuilt campaign.
Find your Web Collection Campaign
To start identifying your users you can select the prebuilt Email Modal Collection campaign as shown below.
Audience of Web Campaigns
Just like in previous campaigns, you first select the audience. For web campaigns these always start with Customer that visit my site. We will be able to reduce who, where, and triggers when we get into the deployment of the content.
For now, let's move into editing the design of the modal by clicking into the Touchpoint.
Design Modal and Confirmation
Once in the Touchpoint, expand the Design card to start designing your modal and confirmation screen. The default modal is setup to collect the first name, last name, and email all as required fields. If you would like to remove or change any of the fields you can find the properties of each text box in the properties pane of the designer.
The default is also set up to subscribe users globally (consent) and directly to the Newsletter list that is setup in your account.
Control Where and Who Sees the Modal
Use Pages to select the pages you want the modal to show or not show on. Make sure you have at least one rule "added" as show here:
Contains will wildcard both sides of the string while Equals is an exact match.
From there you can choose the interactions that trigger the display and how to restrict frequency of the content being shown.
Exit intent will show when a user's mouse starts to exit the window.
Preview Content
You can preview your content at any time with the Preview button. This will publish the content to be visible only to a specific URL on your site with the Zaius javascript deployed on it.
You can also share the link that is generated if you want to send it to someone else, or to try it on another browser. This link will work for 24 hours.
Go Live!
You can deploy web content without any code! Once you have your campaign ready to go, just click Go Live! and your modal will start showing for users.
