Overview
Use Product Directory to understand Zaius's view of your product feed. Validate that the feed matches how you want your products represented and discover new insights about your products, such as other recommended products or average views before purchase.
To access Product Directory, select Company > Products from the main navigation.
Using the Product Directory
Product Data
Each product card shows the product's name, image, url, id, sku, price, and quantity. Some of these fields may be blank if there is no data in Zaius for the product. If these fields are consistently blank, review the Mapping Data Fields section below.
Selecting View More shows Zaius-generated insights about your products. More details about these insights are available in this article. The bottom of the View More modal shows product recommendations specific to this product. These are the products that Zaius would show in context of this product when using product recommendations in on-site content.
Filtering and Searching
View a subset of your products by filtering or searching.
- Search on full or partial product id, name, or SKU. To remove the search, click the X in the search box.
- Filter the product set on any or multiple product attributes using Product Filters, which are displayed in the left-hand column. Event filters cannot be used to filter the Product Directory, but any filter that uses the product feed is available to apply. Create a new filter on the Filters page. To remove the filter, click on it again. To change the filter, choose another filter.
- Apply the Content Shield Filter by selecting that option on the left-hand column. This option will filter the Product Directory only to products that are eligible to be displayed in messaging content and recommendations delivered through Zaius. To remove the Content Shield Filter, click on it again or select the "All Products" option.
Search, filter, and Content Shield options can be applied individually or in combination, but only one search or filter can be applied at once.
Only products that match those search terms or filters will be returned. Parent or child/variant products of matching products will not returned, unless they also match the criteria.
Hierarchical vs Flat Data Views
Products can be shown as a product hierarchy, with parents and variant/children, or as a list. Use the toggle at the top of the screen to change the view. This image below shows a directory set up to display the hierarchy view, where the variant/child product are shown when the parent is expanded by clicking.
If the parent product for a child/variant is not itself part of the product feed, neither that "virtual" product, nor its children will show in the hierarchy view. In this case, use the flat data view to see all products.
For example:
Product 1 references parent product A
Product 2 references parent product A
Product A does not exist in the product feed.
In this case, to view products 1 and 2, use the flat data view. The hierarchy cannot be constructed because Product A is not in the data feed.
Export
Exporting the Product Directory will export the set of products that meet the current filtering/searching criteria (if applied). All fields on the product feed are available for export, not just the fields displayed in the application. Of note, when changes are made to the product feed, allow up to a half-hour for those to be available in export, although changes are available in the application more quickly.
Mapping Data Fields
If the Product Directory consistently shows blank fields or missing links and images, you may need to identify which fields in your product data map to these missing product attributes shown in the Product Directory.
If you are using Zaius's Shopify or Magento integrations, this step does not need to be completed. However, you must make sure your Company URL field is saved on the Company Info settings. This should be the url that precedes all product page urls on your site, such as www.brand.com, or shop.brand.com.
To map data fields, click on the Map Data Fields link in the upper-right of the Product Directory or go to Settings > Data Mapping. To make updates, click Edit.
Map the product attributes to their corresponding field in your data. The dropdown under "Product Field" shows the display names of the fields in your product schema. You can review your product schema on the Objects & Fields tab. If an attribute does not exist in your data, choose "Does not exist" to skip the mapping. A preview of your data will appear upon saving.
Link fields (image urls and product urls) may require special handling. If the entire url, including the protocol, is in the product feed, no special handling is necessary. If the product data contains a partial url, like a product handle or key, that partial field needs to be transformed into a full image url or product url. Use the url builder fields below the mapping table to construct the url, including anything before or after the field, as seen below.
